As Japan's fifth largest trading company - with over $100 billion in trading transactions per annum - Marubeni sells a variety of products, from textiles, metals and chemicals to machinery, power systems and electronics. Marubeni's Electronics Group was looking for a way to market its products and services in the hi-tech community as well as attract new technologies for resale in Japan.

Fostering Community

Creating a sense of community via a website is one way to ensure customer loyalty and reinforce brand recognition. To demonstrate Marubeni's expertise in their relative field, #10 developed a rich media email newsletter, Marubeni Technology Updates, through which industry-specific news and Marubeni product updates could be regularly communicated to those on the mailing list. Furthermore, a dedicated forum of various topics of interest was created to compliment the email campaign. Site tools relevant to global trade, such as currency converters, global time charts and Metric-to-US conversion applications, enhanced the overall website environment, giving the user a "value added" experience.
